Wildwood COTD: Card 2 – The Seer

This card shows a lady, casting a spell or incantation over a stone pool of water. Her eyes are closed in concentration. In one hand, she holds a staff that is by far, taller than she is. She wears a Lynx cloak (I think it’s Lynx, given the pattern on it and pictures of Lynx in this deck) and a red dress. Before the stone well we see a stone with a maze engraved upon it.

This card is the equivalent of the The High Priestess in RWS decks, but there is no dark and light pillar here but the quiet knowledge that exists in the RWS decks is here, but on a more powerful scale I feel. What is she doing? Why is she doing it? What has she asked for? What is she trying to make happen? Not that she’d ever tell you (or me!) but you might get a smile when the lady opens her eyes.

The reference book says the following:

The time has come to focus your power and let it flow through you. Many dreams or desires related to the creative emotional processes are ready to be applied in your day-to-day life and you must now give vent to those hidden or suppressed longings. This may also relate to healing, sexual relationships or partnerships. Now the manifestation of inner spiritual or esoteric insights into your practical and physical daily life will bring profound rewards and results. It is a sign of maturity. The Seer also relates to creative impulses such as art, mechanical skills and crafts, and the joy of bringing pleasure and knowledge to others.

The first sentence of that entire paragraph is knowledge enough for me. Time to try and put it into as much practice as possible 🙂
