In this card for today, you can see a beautiful mute white swan, gliding up a river. Her wings are fluffed outwards and her head is turned back to look at us. You can see the ripples in the water from where she has swam. The water reeds and flowers are not too disturbed by her passing by.
To me, she’s an epitome of protection, nurturing and directness. Have you ever seen swans protect their young? I have: the dog was on the lead at the time, for I knew that the cygnets were around. What I did not expect was to have one of the parents follow me for nearly four hundred yards to ensure that neither I nor the dog & pushchair were a threat, while the other scooted the cygnets onto the water. Very protective and quite direct, which is another trait of this queen. One that I might borrow slightly today, if I may? My thanks.
