Today’s card if the day is the Eight of Stones, with the keyword of skill. As can be seen from the image, a man sits in a well lit cave, carving something useful out of stone. On the wall, high above the working man, is a clear hand-print. What does this signify?
I have felt the need to knuckle down and do today what must be done and using my skills, I also had some fun! As I was sat, wrapping up presents, my eldest sat and made snowflakes. He loved making them and liked the ones mum made too!
So today, it’s been a bit of a mixed bag. But a good mix too. But what of the skills this man displays? He has no one else that we can see, to pass these skills onto. Looking to the bottom left and the usefulness of the items in question, I cannot see him needing a mentor but I can envisage him mentoring and training someone else to do this task.
Tomorrow is Candlemas. For Pagans and solitary witches, it is our “Christmas” if you like, a time when we celebrate the darkest point of the year, for after this, the light returns to us, slowly at first. My plans are simple, but I find like these tools, it is best to keep things simple and functional.
Blessed be and may Herne protect you!
