They say Sunday’s child is full of grace: they’ve probably not met me then! However, on this Sunday, we have the Hooded Man come out and offer his calmness and quiet inner reflection. If ever there was a card for a Sunday, this fellow is it.
As usual with this card, Clannad’s “Hooded Man” plays out inside my head. I’ve been waking up a lot of mornings recently with some very strange songs in my head. I might share them, if I can find out what they are early enough in the morning before the first mug of tea.
However, today, if this fellow is any indication, today is a day for being quiet, for being contemplative. Anyone with young children will tell you that you have more chance of plaiting fog than that happening whilst they are awake! However, I feel it’s very much a “Do something for yourself, for your soul” kind of day.
He is the still, small voice of calm that is so often needed. As the scene suggests, he’s usually one to appear in mid-winter, at the Winter Solstice, Yuletide. However, the contemplation that we often have at that time of year does not always happen then, and we get the muse or the time for inner contemplation when we get it. However, when it hits, use the time to spend time on our soul. When was the last time you did something for yourself? Take the time out to replenish the internal water barrel. You can’t live on frozen waters for ever.
And a personal note for my best friend: This is for you too! Loves you!!
