Today is Tuesday and for a lot of people, it might be the morning after the night before (talking Jubilee celebrations here) but that does not mean we get to relax. Time to wake up and while you're at it, offer others some respect.
Not only is this card about giving respect, it also about earning it, commanding it and not backing down when respect is due. Rather pertinent, the Tarot. I really could do with it not being reminded of respecting others, but it is rather prevalent now in lots of areas of my life. Everything from the children respecting their mother and their elders, to elders respecting wishes of parents and partners doing the same, both in giving and receiving.
But respect comes in many forms. It is given and it can so easily be taken away. The woodwose reminds us that we constantly need to work on the respect for others, our environment. Never forget, the Wildwood asks that we also respect the land that we now borrow from our future generations.
As I was typing this up, a friend Australia, Lynette Packer, posted this on Facebook and I thought it was rather pertinent:
I can be changed by what happens to me. but I refuse to be reduced by it.
-- Maya Angelou
And that is the final word from the Woodwose: Respect yourself too!
I am not available until this evening for readings, but you can book your slot via this page.
