Week Ahead : It’s Time to be Heroic!

This week the heroic, strong, devoted, kind and dedicated Lancelot comes out to join us. He’s gearing up to be his usual heroic self. Is he coming to your aid? Or is he taking you off on a heroic adventure?

Now, Lancelot is one of the characters I do know from the legends of Arthur and the Knights. However, it’s a name, there have been so many tales of him that it’s hard to know which, if any, are true!

Lancelot
Lancelot

We do know that he was French by birth, the son of King Ban of Benoic and his Queen Elaine (not Elaine of Carbonek). He was, in many people’s eyes, the perfect Knight. Strong, brave, heroic, unswerving in his actions. He was also known as Lancelot du Lac because of his fostering in the other-worldly realm of The Lady of The Lake. He took over from Gawain as the Queen’s Champion and fell in love with the same Queen, Guinevere. It was this romantic feelings that drove him to be away from Court. He couldn’t betray his King, so he stays away from temptation to keep his, and his King’s, honour.

Honour is something Lancelot prided himself on, so when he was tricked by Elaine of Carbonek, he went totally mad. That look a lot out of him, but he healed and went in search of the Holy Grail. Being surpassed by his own son and banished from Court probably didn’t help him either and it is said that he died within hours of Guinevere’s death.

He seems to know when trouble is afoot, like he has a sixth sense for it. He has a lot of strength, determination. However, his understanding of love is tainted, so if you’re looking this week to deal with love, best not ask Lancelot. If however, you need the heroic skills to overcome an obstacle, foe, challenge, he’s your man. He can stand shoulder to shoulder with you, or he can lead you into  the greatest test and trials you’re about to face.  It depends on how best you need to answer the challenge of the week ahead.

What are your challenges for this week? Do you need such a warrior by your side? Or do need him to guide you? My suggestion is that you be as confident this week as this warrior is: call on him when you need him to either battle alongside you, or before you. Be heroic, fabulous and like Lancelot, fearless.

Deck used is the Camelot Oracle by John Matthews, illustrated and (c) by Will Worthington.

    1. I find that there’s times you need someone like Lancelot by your side and at other times, it’s not the best option but I rather like his ability to be the Alpha Male 🙂

    1. Hey Susan – He can! If it’s scaring you, call on his courage.
Of course, if you need help, find me on FB and I can offer some help? 🙂

  2. I could have used Lancelot during my breakdown earlier this week! Sometimes you just need a man to stand by 🙂 Thank you!

    1. Hey Mimi!! Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough week my lovely! Call in Lancelot’s skills and let him empower you to fight the good fight 🙂

    1. Hi Suzie 🙂
Seems a lot if us need a warrior by our side this week – suddenly there are a lot of demons kicking around!

I can do Angel cards, but prefer the Tarot 🙂

  3. Yes, tomorrow is a live hangout I am hosting. It is all so new for me, so when I saw, “It’s time to be heroic” and that the spirit of Lancelot could aid me, I smiled. That is most excellent.
    Yours kindly,

  4. Hi Louise, well this was a very appropriate card for me last week, since my daughter was born on Thursday 1st August after a very sudden and quick labour! It all went well and we are both healthy and happy (apart from my ‘female’ wounds of course!), but I certainly felt like a warrior during that ordeal… you know what I mean!

    1. Congratulations Spooky!! Funny enough, I was thinking of you last night – the venue where I read my cards at have put in a green halogen light and I said: “Oh, hello Spooky Mrs Green! Wonder how you are?” And now here you are, posting that you and your daughter are safe! She’s 9 days old now, a little Leo – fantastic news!!
Be gentle with yourself and others – another form of heroic is to be gentle with yourself. Harder to do in some cases <3

Good luck and blessings!! Welcome to stupid o'clock feeding times again! *lol*
And I KNOW you know what I mean on that one 🙂
