The Year of the Earth Dog – Chinese New Year

The Chinese New Year is about to start. Are you ready for the Year of the Earth Dog? It’s New Year time again, but this time, for our Oriental friends.  Reading up on when the Chinese New Year of the Earth Dog happens, is quite confusing. Despite the fact that the New Year actually began for them on February 4th, the New Year is not celebrated until the New Moon of that lunar month; hence why it’s the 16th of February this year. Another thing I’ve learned this year (which I haven’t known these last 12 years!) is that there are colours for each animal!  Someone told me it was brown this year & I was like, “ya what?! Colours?! No way!! :O” But it was yes way, there are colours. There are also genders; so this year is the year of the “Male brown earth dog”. My eldest was born in a Dog year, a Fire Dog but I cannot find out the colour of the dog (I’m thinking red?) or the gender associated with it. The last time the Earth Dog was here, was 1948! Yes, quite a while ago! Tarot & The Earth Dog So, what does this…

Time To Clear Your Mind for 2018

Clear your mind they sang, and the rest will follow.  I “may” have misquoted that song title but it was on purpose. The New Year is well underway, so it’s time to clear your mind from the previous year! If you’ve managed to let go of all the stuff from 2017 already then you won’t need to clear your mind. Now that we’re into the second working week of a whole near year (or blank book!) it’s time to really reflect on what 2017 taught us & start building a bridge to get over that & achieving what we need for 2018. How often do we carry around the baggage from the past? That question reminds me of this song from the fabulous Stevie Nicks, Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around. What other “baggage” are you carrying around from 2017? Guilt? Regret? Anger? There are bound to be things that you’ve just not dealt that is holding you back. The year is young. In baby terms, it’s still depending on you to do something with it. It won’t get its legs until Imbolc (which is only 3 weeks away!) but you kinda need to know what it is you want to spring…

Welcome 2018 – Our Justice Year

Welcome, 2018! You’ve been expected & in some cases, much wanted already! Now that 2017 is behind us, what does 2018, our Justice Year, have in store? You might wonder why on earth I said: it’s “Our Justice Year”. Well, take 2018, then add 20 to 18 & you get 38. Add 3 & 8 together & you get 11. The Justice card for The Wildwood is The Woodward. The buck stops with him this year, he has the final say of what does & doesn’t go. 2017 was a WHEEL year, Major 10 (3+7=10) so last year was a year of changes, both big & small. It was a bit of a rollercoaster in general, though not all the waves that we started last year will be needed this year. That’s where The Woodward comes in. He’s able to stand guard & watch. He’s not just Strength, he’s Justice too. His statement “I am not a victim. treat me with respect. Do not mistake my passivity for weakness”. The Woodward is the emotional backstop when fate or something else destructive, a disaster or something similar threatens to overwhelm us. Now that we’ve had all our seemingly security blankets, mechanisms…

The Wildwood : Adventuring in 2014

What might 2014 have in store for us all? Well, whilst out adventuring in nearby districts today, I asked The Wildwood what 2014 might have in store for me and mine… Here’s the collective image I made with the iPhone app whilst I was out and about. It’s amazing what one can do with technology these days. The Central card is the Green Man. He’s the symbol of the flourishing male aspect , ever vigilant. His heart is great and his spirit is warm. This is the aspect for 2014 that I feel is at my disposal. Numerically, my Year cards this year is 8 Stag (Strength) & 17 The Pole Star (The Star) and I’ll add them into the overall equation and energy for 2014. January‘s card is the Ace of Arrows. Talk about being direct! A new idea may come to me this month, knowing where I’ve come from and where I wish to go. This may come in an moment of epiphany. Adventuring awaits! February‘s card is the Queen of Arrows. Having the Queen of Air come up in the month of Aquarius doesn’t surprise me, there are a lot of family birthday’s during this time of…

Wildwood New Year Spread ~ 7/12 ~ July

Welcome to the Seventh spoke of the Wheel of the Year. I cannot believe it’s July already. Where has the year gone?! And can Summer please install itself? Thank you!! Lets look at the Wheel now more than half of the year has been revealed. This is now looking rather spectacular!! We are probably well aware, the middle card is Major #14 ~ Balance (or Temperance in RWS) which is all about keeping things in the middle and walking a tight rope: not pulling the silver birch one way or the other. It’s all about finding the tricky balance between business, family, finances, TABI and me! It is also about having patience and having inner harmony. These were the cards for June: Monthly Card: Ten of Stones ~ Home What will help: Queen of Stones ~ Bear What will not help: King of Bows ~ Adder My synopsis for June was this: The first card up for our overall message is the Ten of Stones, with the keyword of Home. So, the theme for June was home, hearth and family. To pay attention and concentrate on the home. Since I have decorating to finish, I believe that this is what…

These were the cards for May: Monthly Card: Nine of Bows ~ Respect What will help: Major #7, The Archer What will not help: Knight of Vessels ~ Eel For May, this was my interpretation: Earn and command the respect you deserve from all quarters during this month. If it means you have to be a temperamental old sod, then be a temperamental old sod. Decide on your target, calm yourself and when you are ready, let your arrow fly. This is the Chariot in RWS terms, so be driven, focused and…
