Pyramid Spread & Saturn Retrograde

There are many spreads that are available out there, easily accessible thanks to the Internet.

One of my favourites is the pyramid spread, wider at the bottom then up to the point of what to do next.

It can be reversed from the single point again to be as large going forwards as you need or want it to be. I often use this pyramid spread when I want insight on where I am, what to overcome & what the outcome is likely to consist of.

The question for this week is; What do I need to be aware of during this Saturn Retrograde? FYI, Saturn doesn’t go direct again until August (yes, that long) so these months may be zooming passed in reality, but it’s not going to feel like time is moving or things are progressing at all. Days may feel longer than they actually are.

The Spread:

Bottom, Row 1: Where I am now.

Middle,  Row 2: What to do between now & August?

Top, Row 3: What’s the next step?

pyramid

The Cards & Interpretation:

Row 1: Major 18, The Moon on Water; Two of Arrows & Major 5, The Ancestor

This row shows me that the basis of where I am isn’t set in stone. It’s rather fluid, a little like a watery path. Things aren’t in balance, that I know. They haven’t been for a little while & with this Saturn retrograde, they’re not likely to be for a while to come! The Ancestor says that there’s a way through this, but the path isn’t one I’ve walked upon, yet. The choice is there if I want to walk down that avenue.

Row 2: King of Bows & Major 12, The Mirror

Between now & August, the cards say “Go my own way” & do what it is I need to do that is true to me. That’s hard, standing up by yourself & walking your own path, ignoring the pressures of others. The cards say to act as I want to be remembered or acknowledged for. So, how do you (or I)  want to act? How do you want to conduct yourself as you walk your own path?

Row 3: Seven of Arrows

There are two ways to take this card for the next step; Either I can let the insecurities within overtake me, or I can listen to the voices of others & cause even more monkey to mess up my mind than my mind monkeys can come up with. It seems all rather complicated and I’m not sure what else this could be hinting at. Reading the description of the card from the app (as the book is in another room & I’m not moving to go get it):

“We may not be able to change the past, but we can learn to evolve strategies from the lessons of life & apply them to future scenarios. This process may also involve forgiveness for past failures, either of other individuals, belief systems or, more importantly, oneself.”

Conclusion:

The cards of the middle row & top row of this pyramid spread are quite interesting. Go my path, do what I need to do & be true to myself, forgive myself (?) for the decisions I didn’t take, or those that I did take. Don’t let the mind monkeys out to play!

Now that, I can take forward! What is it you see in these cards? What do your cards say? I’d love to see or hear about the cards you’ve drawn using this spread.  I’ve used The Wildwood but you can use whatever deck you wish to! Feel free to let me know via comments!!

Wildwood Shares ~ The Bow Spread

When the Wildwood was launched, it came with a worthy book, detailing a lot of things about this earthy deck.

One of the sections has the spreads that Mark designed for this deck & I’ve chosen to illustrate the Bow Spread for you with this week’s question.

To be honest, I’ve never gotten into the bigger spreads of this deck, though Mark himself has kindly shown me it (then again, I’ve not done the homework on this spread, so totally my fault)

There are some of the spreads that I have used, like the Pathway Spread (which is 3 cards) but the whole Bow Spread I know isn’t printed the way Mark wanted it. The second card, The Bow, is actually raised above the line the spread on page 145 shows it as. (Yes, I’ve made a note in my book so I know).

bow spread as in the book from page 145

Remember when I said above that the bow card is supposed to be raised to represent the actual bow. Please do try this spread for yourself, I have, which you can read below.  It’s not just for use with The Wildwood. Try this with the Thoth or another straight talking deck.

The Question & Cards Drawn

Bow Spread in use

The question I asked was simple. What do I need to be aware of during this Equinox?

1/ What’s the issue about? 9 of Vessels

2/ What’s your focus on the issue? 2 of Bows

3/ What do you think about the situation? 6 of Bows

4/ What do I feel  about the situation? 6 of Vessels

5 / What drives the issue? Page of Arrows

6/ What guides the solution? 4 of Arrows

7/ What’s the likely outcome? 5 of Arrows

The Reading

The Issue is my peace. I feel it’s  been violated and I know why; because my barriers aren’t up. I do need to re-learn how to do this, so I can regain my peace. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as just putting up psychic barriers.

What my focus is on the issue, is undecided. What option do I choose here? Do something or do nothing? If I do choose to do something, what is it I choose to do? There are a lot of questions I need answers to, but the cards do give me a way to sort my head out. Read on.

What do I think? Remember how abundant we are. The “we” here is my family. We forget sometimes how lucky we are here in the First World. There is food, warm shelter, clothes, beds with sheets that are fresh and can be cleaned. This card reminds me to be grateful for those items in my life. I also include the kids & hubby here, even if they do add to the home chores!

What do I feel?  The 6 of Vessels tells me I want things back to how they were. I want my sanity & peace back, but I  can’t rewind time. So I have to remind myself that this situation whilst temporary, will change; it always does.

What drives the issue? Page of Arrows… Now, this I do have issues with. It’s the communications I have issues with. It’s the fact that people decide on what’s real,  based only on what they’re told. I really wish they’d be adult enough to work things out on their own. Rather than talk like adults, the others in question here have decided and act upon falsehoods & not in a friendly way either.

What guides the solution? I can’t decide if this is hinting I should wait or just give up. Whatever it is, time is all I can give it. As Dire Straits sang, “Why worry? There should be laughter after pain, there should be sunshine after rain, these things have always been the same, so why worry now?

What’s the likely outcome? The frustrations or other people’s thoughts shouldn’t hold me back, I should fly above them and not let them hold me back or on me down. To give up is to let them win & whilst I am tenacious, I can’t give up. I need to keep going to keep above those arrows & keep leaping along in my life.

Conclusion

The last cards are the ones I want (& need) to carry forwards with me. Time is my friend, I can only hope that the penny will drop at some point & the lights will go on. The when isn’t down to me, yet I just have to trust that it will. I hate waiting, though I honestly do.

I’d love your thoughts on these cards, let me know how this spread works for you. If you’d like your own reading, you can book it right here.

Venus is Retrograde : The Wildwood Explains

My astrology friends tell me that Venus is retrograde until 15th April.

What does that mean to us mere mortals, struggling through life?

The planets going retrograde or backwards is well-known. We can tell when Mercury is going backwards, we’re hit with technological issues or people just don’t listen. With Venus, it’s a little more complicated I think. Venus is the brightest star in the sky, after The Sun. She hangs around with the Moon & is often known as the Morning Star or the Evening Star, depending on when she comes to “hang out”.

During a Venus retrograde, lots of things suddenly feel off.  Your head might feel it’s about to explode, dreams may be off & wonky. What you wish for may not manifest right now & what you value may change drastically during a Venus Retrograde.

I asked the Wildwood how best to proceed during this Venus Retrograde, including the show parts from January until May 18th, even though Venus is direct from April 15th. It was my birthday on the 7th of March, which is when I heard about it. Here are the answers.

The Cards & Positions

venus retrograde cards

What do I value now? – The Journey

The value of change is the value I need to embrace during this Venus retrograde. You know what? There’s positive change & negative change & the negative change that’s happened, I wish would just undo itself & sod the hell off. It’s unlikely to happen though but I should, apparently, embrace the change, the reducing, the reusing & the recycling of things. Nothing stays the same, everything changes but nothing is forgotten; nothing is ever forgotten.

What can I dream now, for it to become real in April? – Ace of Bows

What do I need to dream now that will manifest in April? Well, knowing that we’ve a shadow pull to come I’d say it’s more like mid-May before we’ll see dreams manifesting. However, the dreams for me involve me following or creating my passions. I need to find & create the spark that will move me forward. I have an idea on what that is & it’s a hint (more of a bow) to my life path number of 33.

What’s the best way for me to proceed now? 2 of Vessels

This makes me smile; keep being me! It’s hard when you’re tired a lot of the time (A side effect of Venus being Rx) and having to deal with people who frankly, need to just go away again. I doubt that’s going to happen, so the best thing I can do is to keep an emotional balance for me & mine & connect on the levels that are best for me. I know what they are, I know what that means for those that are around me, for those that matter to me.

I’ve enjoyed this little soiree into the realms of Venus Retrograde with me & The Wildwood. Buckle up, Mercury Retrograde is joining in too & I think I might just hide in the house & stay there until May 18th!

Getting Off the HangUp with The Wildwood

Have you ever wondered how on Earth you got suckered into worrying about the small stuff & how do you get off the hangup?

I know it’s time to let go of the hangup I’m having about my own social media numbers, whilst still keeping a track of them. Let’s explore how I can let that go.

This year I’ve been paying attention more to my social media numbers than I did in 2016. Partly because it’s a target or drive in my business, but if you don’t know I’m here, how can you buy a reading from me? It’s rather a complex situation that I’ve gotten rather “hung up on” recently. So after a quick discussion with some others, another reader asked me: “What do your cards say?” So, thanks to Hermit’s Lamp shining the way for me, here’s this week’s blog post. I hope it helps you get unstuck too!

The Cards & Image:

hungup

Why am I hung up on this? Four of Arrows
What can I do about letting it go? Knight of Bows
What can I do going forwards? Page of Arrows

Why am I hung up on this? With the new planner I have for the business this year, I’ve focused more on the numbers than the content. Like this card depicts, rest: don’t sweat it. Yes, record it, but let the numbers transform on their own when they’re ready & organically, properly.

What can I do about letting it go? The Knight of Bows is the opportunist, the chance taker. He’s the one that will just go with the flow & not get stuck behind a rock (which is where I feel I am!)

What can I do going forwards? The Page of Arrows is learning about communication. This little bird isn’t just about talking, she’s also about listening to understand (not just to respond).

Conclusion: So that’s how I sort out my hangup: I communicate in a simpler way, I take the chances I can when I see them & whilst I keep an eye on the numbers, don’t get hung up on it. I communicate & listen to understand, not just to respond. I need to keep the messages I send out clear & uncluttered. That’s going to be hard, I can waffle sometimes!

Feel free to comment, I appreciate it!  I’ve used The Wildwood Tarot deck here to do this reading, but I’ve others available.

What would happen if I Focus on…

What would happen if you focused on the results of your efforts rather than your efforts?

What could happen if you choose to focus on both: The end result and the efforts you put in?

Deciding what to focus on can be tricky.  We all need more money,  we all want more things,  we all want the better things.  During these tricky times,  it’s hard to get the balance right.  We focus sometimes on the wrong  things, micro manage ourselves into holes we struggle to get out of.

What might happen if we were to focus on two aspects? I suggest focusing on the end goal & how you might get there. Between the two is the bridge,  the “how we get there” from where we are now.

Reading Points

What’s my main goal? The Guardian

What’s my end result? Knight of Bows

What’s the way to connect the two? The Hooded Man

Major-15-The-GuardianThe Guardian.  The main goal looks a little scary,  doesn’t he? Well, he does at that. He’s meant to be.  Your main goal is on the other side of him.  The fear you have, manifests as him.  Are you afraid of being a success? Believe it or not,  that does happen,  a lot. He’s the Devil,  standing before you, teasing,  scaring, manipulating you.  He’s your ego saying  “you’re not good enough” when you are.

Your goal is to overcome your irrational fear of being successful,  of achieving your goal. As an example, me.  I can apply plenty of times he’s come up in my Tarot career and no doubt, he’ll carry on appearing when I’m stopping myself from achieving what I should & what I know I can.

Knight-of-Bows-WMKnight of Bows. This cunning fox is smiling at us.  Can you see that? Well,  I think he is! He’s the result that says : I came,  I thought,  I feared and I won!  Until the next time.  Your end result is having a plan, sticking to it and following it through. It about adapting to the situation, being quick of thought enough to leave something behind if it’s not working out. It’s knowing when it’s time to move on.

He’s saying be determined, don’t anticipate the future,  roll  with it. Be witty,  be quick,  take advantage when you can.  Try a different approach, don’t do it the same way.  Go your own way.

focusThe Hooded Man.  This is your bridge between the two, the connection method.  You can clearly see the lantern,  he’s living his own way by listening to his higher self. The wren  represents that listening part, that’s what that little bird is good at. Speaking & giving voice to the quiet soul within.  The light beyond the door shows that there’s shelter,  even in these harsh conditions. He is gaining more wisdom by allowing himself to think, contemplate and process his own thoughts.

You are capable of this yourself you know. We all need time to think about what action we need to take next. Most of us either do not get the time, make the time or care to think. Some of us though, do. It’s safe to assume that you do, you’re here, reading this after all and I thank you for taking the time to join me.

I’ve used The Wildwood Tarot to write this blog entry. You can buy your own personal reading or consultation via this link.

America, What Will Happen Now?

America, what will happen when the election is over?

This is a question with so many ramifications, its tricky to answer! What will happen to America after this election?

Watching the American election, or even keeping a slight track on it and you cannot help but ask the question: What will happen once the circus is over? No doubt the circus will find a way to hop on over the UK, it usually does.

When the dust settles, when the clowns have gone home, what will happen then? I asked The Wildwood what might happen.

The Reading:

AmericaThe first card out was the Three of Arrows. To me, this is saying that some (okay, probably fair to say that half) aren’t going to like the final result. America will speak & the loudest, most popular voices will be heard and acted upon. There will be some who will wonder what the heck happened. Well, sorry America, Britain has been there with Brexit. What it means for us, Goddess only knows, it’s dragging us around like a ball and chain. What it’ll mean for you guys, well, it’s going to hurt half of you, whichever one gets into the Oval Office.

Major-17-The-Pole-Star-WMThe second was Major 17, The Pole Star. This tells me that there’s hope, even from the ashes. You’ve risen from the ashes before, America. Now that the drawn out process is over, it’s time to look to the future and to build on the results. There’s a whole new future for you to take advantage 0f, to learn from. You just have to decide what your future is going to be like now the results are in.

adjustThe third & final was the Page of Bows. To me, this is learning where your passions lie, working the system as it is now, redesigning as you’re going. America, you’re going to have to adjust, change tact & see which way the political weather is blowing. There’s a huge first coming for both America and the United Kingdom, if it goes the way I feel it will. I am astonished that I’m alive to even see it. If it doesn’t, my children will be. Whatever the results are, there’s change coming America, are you going to embrace it, or try to deny it?

Conclusion:

Well America you’ve got a few changes coming your way. But you knew that. The tell-tale sign here is how you deal with the results, the aftermath and the change that is coming, that was always coming. The important thing is to have hope, look to the future, grab it and seize it with both hands. But you’re going to have to change for the future; what you were is no longer serving you.

I used the Wildwood Tarot & I hope that you enjoyed this blog post. I’ve years sat here, waiting for you to explore & digest with pleasure. Your personal readings are available from this page, if you should wish!

Why Me? The Wildwood Answers.

Why Me? reversed

Why me?

Well, why not? Should it be someone else that travels your life journey? The “Why Me?” question implies something of a defeatist attitude.

We all get down from time to time and we all think: Why me?! occasionally. Staying there can cause more problems than turning it around from “Why me?” to “Try me!” My children certainly do not like me when I turn to them and say: “try it” when they’re pushing the boat out. They don’t like it either when they’re whining and my reaction is to “Go and try it.”

There’s a brilliant meme that’s been hitting Facebook and I think it ties very well into answering this question.

It doesn’t have to be the Devil that asks, though it is usually someone we don’t like, adding more to our plate when frankly, we can do without that kind of nonsense. The boss, for example, or customers who know something is broken at five o’clock, but they’ve had the files and the system update for two days.

During this school holiday (which is seven weeks long!) the chances are it’s going to be the kids, turning my hair more grey than usual. That’s okay, they’re my kids, I’m the mum, I gave them that right when they were born to do that. There are, however, boundaries.

And that is where the “Why me?” phrase comes from: when we don’t or cannot apply a boundary, or say: enough already! Why do we feel like that? I think it’s because we’re afraid sometimes of telling the boss, No. We’re not wanting to offend someone new when they’re clearly not going to fit in, though it’s a word that we have used on small people and because of small people from the moment that they’re born. It’s a word we use to keep people safe, confine them or set boundaries.

The Reading:

So, what can the Tarot tell us about the question, Why Me?

  • If not you, then who else? ~ Three of Bows
  • What else do you need to consider? ~ Queen of Vessels
  • This is, Why Me? ~ Two of Stones

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

With my daughter’s help, we have three cards for you. The first asks you: If it’s not you, then who else could do this? The Three of Bows comes out to remind you that actually, you have a choice! Look at the paths here, there are three and even if The Seer is the one in the hooded robe, you’re being given a choice. Don’t be defeatist about it. You can choose to either do it or not. Rise to the challenge, or pick another. The Queen of Vessels comes up as the next card, reminding you that you need to be wise in your responses, determined in your results and whilst you can give in, you cannot give up. This salmon will return to her spawning grounds, she will get there and she’ll swallow some hazelnuts for nourishment. She’s not going to give up, but she may give in to conserve her strength when she needs it. The Two of Stones comes out to say: It’s you because there’s a lesson here to learn. It’s about setting and enforcing boundaries (as I mentioned above) and standing your ground.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my little blog post this week, enjoy yourself and remember, it’s not always you, sometimes it’s others. Don’t be defeatist and feel free to whisper back to the Devil: I Am, I Can, I Will!
