Set Your Future – Only YOU Can!

It’s a new week & already, most of the month has passed! We don’t always need a New Year to set our goals, we can do that every day of the week, but since today is a Monday, why not set your future now? Your future is in your hands. When you’re eleven, you may not believe that. When you’re twenty-eight, you’re in the grips of the “man” & the corporate life. However, when you’re forty-two, a busy mum of three active, bouncy, intelligent children, you push them to exceed when you didn’t. Oh, if we could only go back twenty years! Here’s the thing though; we don’t need to go back 20 years. We don’t need to push the kids to be better than us (though, we do that normally anyway!) we can set our own future, right now. We can set it and start striving towards it. The trick comes with knowing where you want to be in 10 years time. Then, comes the planning! Breaking it down into steps you can accomplish by being persistent. Being consistent helps ensure you’ll keep it. Some are better at one aspect than the other, but that doesn’t mean you don’t try! This…

To School Or Not To School, The Wildwood Answers

Working out a tricky step for ourselves that involves time & finances is exactly what the Tarot ordered. Do we carry on with the education & school? The Tarot is great at helping us reflect on decisions of this nature, let me show you how. Choosing between two options is something we all come across in life. You might not use the Tarot to decide what’s for breakfast or lunch, but to go & further educate yourself or not, is something we really need a few voices on so we can make our decision. The option to further our education by going back to school (or not) is often a tricky one. Finances aside, it’s sometimes the fear of “being the oldest” that we baulk at. The “odd one out” for me, personally, isn’t something new. But it might be for others or you. So, what do you need to know? The first thing is knowing that you’ve got choices ahead of you.  You may already know what those choices are, which is great, but sometimes we don’t know what they are. The cards can help us figure out which way is the best way to go. It’s more than…

The Father’s of The Wildwood

It’s Father’s Day here in the UK & the Wildwood has its celebration of the fathers in our lives. They can range from those who are very direct to those who are gentle and guiding. Which Tarot cards fit? Father’s are an important part of our lives. Sometimes, we’re lucky to have uncles, grandfathers or older male cousins to bless our lives with. Sometimes we don’t get to be that lucky, we may not even get a male role model until we get to school. Sometimes, it is not even then, it’s secondary (high school) before we encounter a good male influence. We have some great Father Like cards within the Wildwood. Before we get to the spread, I wanted to show you a few. Now, I could (really should) use my Parents Spread that I created last year (the UK celebrates these days at different points to the USA, in case you think I’ve lost the plot) And so, we have our spread, we have the cards, let’s match the two together, shall we? The Reading: What do we need to appreciate about our fathers? Princess of Swords How do we not show that we love our dad’s?  7…

Gemini New Moon & Middle Beltane

It’s a New Moon & the fires of Beltane still burn brightly. What can the Gemini New Moon provide us on insights? We’re in the middle time between Beltane & as we’re approaching a new moon (which will be in Gemini at 20:45 25th May BST) I thought it prudent to see what energies are around us at this time. Gemini’s love to ask questions & find out answers. If you’ve ever worked with a Gemini they can be fantastic & very “bulldog” like in their endeavours. On the receiving end, they’re not known for letting go until they’ve gotten what they’ve set out to find. Woe betide you if you even dare to lie to them. You’ll be done to them if you do! Gemini attention to detail can be both fantastic and a proper pain in the proverbial. It depends on how they come across with their tenacity. They also love self-reflection. Some of us shy away from that, but even so, we need to be the horse that’s led to the water & we need to drink.  They don’t tend to throw stones as they too live in a glass house. They’re not perfect but they’re so…

The Wonder of Mum, The Tarot Explores

It’s Mother’s Day here in the UK & I’m taking a look at the archetypes of a mum through various decks. There also a free spread you can try for your own mother if you wish. I used this spread in 2016, but it’s applicable today and every day. The First Of My Women The first woman I draw from the deck is the Queen of Cups. (Yes, I’ve reverted to the RWS for this post). This is the lady who is emotionally aware, though in control of what she’s feeling, though she’s often the one that gets used and abused as a mother. The next woman I draw from the deck is Justice. This card always makes me think of Judge Judy. Quick witted, on the ball mentally, willing to stand up for others & seen recompense. She likes things to be as fair as possible. Then I call upon the Queen of Wands, the passionate mother who may be slightly controlling, but certainly wishing you the best. She’s also the one who will tell you to get on with it, just do it. Strength arrived next, kindly holding the lion’s mouth open. In the Wildwood, Strength isn’t a woman,…

Wildwood : Marketing and Responsibility

Following on from the UK Tarot Conference rest, it’s time to start treating this marketing thing with a bit more responsibility. Remember I said I slept through one of the lunch time workshops in this blog post? Well, the one I didn’t sleep through, was Maria Antoniou’s from the Brighton Tarot School. Like everyone else who is a single business lady (or man), busy parent, marketing yourself is like pulling teeth! Ask me about anyone or anything else, and I’ve a story to tell. But telling you about myself, what I do, and I go quiet. Most people are like that, even a friend of mine who is going through re-branding her crafty-self is finding the same issues. But what, please, is the ONE solution? Maria’s top-level workshop was entitled: “Soulful Enterprise – 5 steps to a successful Tarot Business”  and the main cards were the central card and the three action cards. As for the 5 steps, I  must have missed that part! (I’ve asked her on Facebook what the 5 steps were) but there are a few actions I’ve either taken, or plan to take. 1/ Based on the 10 of Swords (The central card) I’ve removed myself…

Wildwood : Post Conference Snooze

I spent Saturday the 11th of October in London, UK, at the UK Tarot Conference and this week, I’ve some re-structuring to do. Thanks to the insights of the Tarot. The UK Tarot Conference is in its 11th year now, and I’m looking forward to 2015 already! If getting up at 4:15 am wasn’t bad enough for some folks, being awake an hour before because nature has the nerve to call at stupid o’clock of an important day is certainly tiring! Which is exactly how my Saturday started out. However, that early start certainly got me up and dressed before the first alarm at half-four, out the door before the second at four forty-five and walking to the bus stop to catch the bus into Birmingham City Central to get to the right station to head to London. It’s unbelievable how quiet and peaceful the world is at 4:45am, and how by 5:15, the country just starts  jumping. It was amazing to see how quickly it all changed at that hour of the morning, when seriously, not a mouse or cat was stirring. The moon was high and it did rather feel like The Pole Star card as I walked…
