Today’s card of the Day is not the card I first turned over. First came the 8 of Stones (skill) then the 4 of Arrows (rest). I discounted them because I wasn’t concentrating on what I was doing or what I was wanting the Tarot to answer for me. I wanted to know what the influences around me today would be. And when I had decided on the question, this card came up.
So, what does the 6 of Stones have to teach us today? The key word is quite relevant here. The fire in the background is clearing the land and renewing it. Fire is hot, dangerous and merciless. The bee hives have been spent, the bees are long gone. There’s no food around, so why is the father and daughter still waiting around? They’re holding their hands out, expecting to be given things. Life is not like that, in general. But we are heading into “the silly season” with Christmas now less than four weeks away. Everyone seems to be going silly, buying things that we probably don’t need
Sorita D’Este posted something interesting today via Facebook: “We are a consumer society – we believe it is our right to buy new clothes, cars, gadgets and “stuff” whenever we want and that we “deserve” the right to do so – but none of it really makes us happy. So with the big spending month of December just about to arrive, what will you spend your money on this year, and how do you think that the way you spend your money affects the world, politics and economical situation for others around you?”
Certainly makes you think, doesn’t it?
