Today’s rather late card of the day is the Nine of Stones with the keyword of Tradition. I have pondered a lot today as to what this card might mean. It refers to have reverence for the past, its wisdom and the sacrifice our ancestors and elders may have made, passed onto the future generations and ritual.
It suggests that we reach back into time and invite traditions to enlighten and enrich your life in the current day, calling on ancient strengths that are freely available to those seeking wisdom, sustenance and consolation.
Now, you see, here is the thing: What am I supposed to be looking back into time for? Other than banging my head against the wall trying to work out how on earth people ever got their work done in the day. This modern technology is all well and good, but during a Mercury Rx, it’s a total pain in the bottom!
However, it is worth remembering I’m not going to learn anything from the past if I do not ask, do not follow this man’s example and take the time out to think, meditate and ask. However, meditating is not a case of trying to quiet the mind, it’s about letting your mind wander in order to find the answers you need. It’s about listening to yourself. The Stoat from this deck indicates the same thing: listening.
So, what is the trick for you today? Are you, like me, needing to listen to our ancestors or at least, ask them for help? Even if you don’t, they’re probably sending you a message: Listen.
And now, I think I know what I need to ask my ancestors: What were YOUR traditions for Ostara?
