Wildwood COTD : Ace of Stones

Today, at the start of two weeks of fun (some might say torture!) with the kids being off school, we have the Ace of Stones, which are Pentacles in RWS terms. It has the key phrase: The Foundation of Life.

Card of the Day
Ace of Stones ~ The Foundation of Life

The last time I pulled this card out, it was in a reading for someone. I was cheekily asked at the end: “What are my chances of winning the lottery then?!” I laughed and they apologised for asking such a question, but I pulled a card anyway, and out came this one. My answer: “Put your ticket on, otherwise you’ve no chance!” I’ve not heard from them, so I am guessing that no winnings were forthcoming. I’ve always said, if all Tarot readers were rich, or could win the lottery with using the Tarot, we’d be in the Bahamas or somewhere else equally warm. Well, I’m not and I’m guessing, neither are you! (laughing)

But the sentiment was there: the want to build a good foundation with no worries of financial hindrance hanging over them.  But like buying a lottery ticket, you have to start somewhere. You have to lay the foundations down somewhere and make sure that it is a good foundation. Birch is our Green Man Oracle of the Week and the sentiment from that card is relevant here: If you’re going to start something, make sure it’s got a good start, so you can have a good conclusion.

And it is also about making a promise, is it not? To make a promise is, for me, rather sacred. It’s a foundation for me, about who I am. Who are you? What is your foundation? Have fun finding out and thinking about that today. I know I will for these next 2 weeks. I am here if you need me.

I love the thought of viewing this card as a foundation. It seems like ever new venture in life needs a solid foundation.
And yes, I agree that if we could use Tarot cards to win at the lottery, every Tarot card reader would be rich!

I pulled this card yesterday too. I loved your view on it as a foundation, all good things require a good foundation if they’re to last. I felt it was about the physical foundation for me yesterday.

As for the lottery, I feel the cards tell you if you are going to be lucky. I only ever play if I see something in the horoscope I cast for my-self each week, and I’ve always won something – never a lot (£10 – £120), but I know I’ll never be a millionaire from my natal promise. The cards are the same, they’ll show you when is a good time rather than the numbers 🙂 If they could, I’d be living in Switzerland now.

So Switzerland is your destination of choice, is it? I’d head home, but to Stirling or the west coast of Scotland. However, the kids are now in school, so I’d wait until they were at the end of their general education before I moved. However, gotta win it first! (lol) 🙂
