Today we have a most interesting card, a Court card none the less. In RWS, he’s the King of Swords, but to us here in the Wildwood, he’s the silent hunter known as the Kingfisher, the King of Arrows.
Will has managed to capture the colours of this bird in such a way that is so beautiful… I have not as yet, managed to catch sight of the ones that I am told now inhabit the part of the river near me that I frequent regularly, but with a dog running the squirrels up the trees and an exuberant two and a half-year old, they’re going to head for their little mud banks before I even know that they’re there.
However, what they look like when flying past (so I am told) is a dash of bright blue, then they’re gone. Which sounds very fleeting, just like an arrow, which is perfect for this deck.
What however, does this mean for us today? He is a character of directness, swiftness. What he aims for, he gets, fish or otherwise. He can be brutal, but swift, colourful and vanishes in a second.
So today, you might want to be careful what you say to whom, what you mean may not be what you say. I often find that with the King of Swords, I say things without thinking, I hurt people with my directness, though I have no intention of that when I speak.
I am here and available should you wish my assistance.
