Wildwood COTD : Ace of Vessels

Today for Saturday, we have a fantastic card come out to join us. It’s the Ace of Vessels with the key phrase (not word) of: The Waters of Life.

Ace of Vessels ~ The Waters of Life

We had this card join us on Tuesday and the message then is the same as today: it’s new emotional beginnings and experiences, friendships or possible new employment opportunities.

As we can see from the card, everyone needs to drink from the waters of life. The waters flow from the large bowl at the top of the structure and cascade down. The Queen of Arrows, who we met the other day, swims about gracefully, using the element to float upon. The deer that joins her as a small boat that is shaped like a half-moon floats on by. He is not bothered by the presence of either one.

In the background, behind the water fall, it looks like a large yew tree stands guard and offers shade as well as protection.

This card is a reminder that we are all swayed by our emotions, no matter who or what we are. It’s primeval. The powers of reason, intellect and science have all but been explained, but the need to drive onwards, to desire and explore, to be curious is still debated.

The card for me, asks that we allow things to begin again, to start-up, to grow. Like this pool, our emotions need to be harnessed in order to be constructive, healthy, creative and loving. Leaving them unattended could cause us to become detached. Letting them rule us can cause us to become irrational and destructive to our self and others. Which way will you swim today?

If you’re already detached, breathing in deep lung-full of air and grounding yourself will help. If you’re not sure and are somewhat unsure, be brave and venture forth and try. You will never know if you do not try. And you may not get another chance such as this again.
