Wildwood COTD : Major #6 ~ The Forest Lovers

It’s Wednesday and today, one of my Tarot birth cards comes out to play and join us for the day. Yay! The card in question is the 6th Major, The Forest Lovers.

Major 6 ~ The Forest Lovers
Card of the Day

This card shows two people, engaged in a hand-fasting ceremony around a silver birch tree. According to Mark and John in the book, they’re Robin and Maid Marian.

What does the Lovers represent to you? For me, it’s about loving others, yourself, family, friends, making friends, keeping friends…. I’m sure you can add to this list, so what would you add? Balance? Yin? Yang? I’d like to know.

I also feel it’s about balancing souls, the Eternal love that we have.

There’s been some debate these last four days from politicians on both sides of the pond about rape. To my mind, the act of physically loving another human is a sacred act, an act born of respect. To decree that there is legitimate rape, that women cannot get pregnant from such a violent act is, to my mind, disrespectful at best. There are other words and phrases that could describe the anger I feel towards such idiots, but I am pretty sure they’re unprintable and someone had better wash my mouth out with soap afterwards. Either that, or some seriously strong mouthwash!

Anyway, I feel we always need to let our internal light shine, though having that ability and doing it for most of the waking day (never before a decent mug of tea and two slice of toast though!) is something of a challenge, to say the least.

So today, let your inner light shine, enjoy today and remember, there’s still room somewhere to breath, I’m sure!

Please follow and share!

  1. Just say this post from @ilawton on twitter, which made me think of my card of the day:
“We all get by with a little help from our friends”
