It’s Sunday and we have a rather nice card come out and join us. It’s The Forest Lovers Card, the Wildwood’s answer to the RWS Lovers Major. Here, we see more of a love each other, than love the idea of love.
The Wildwood shows Marian and Robin, hand-fasting themselves to each other around a Silver Birch tree, which is decorated in green garland and ribbon.
Every time I see this card, no matter the deck, I am always reminded to love myself and be gentle with myself. My children may not be gentle with mum, my husband fairly often is, but I am certainly my own worst enemy and I forget to be gentle and loving on myself.
It is better to respect and revere the rites of love, than to force things through all the time. It can be exhausting, pushing for things to happen when in truth, they don’t need to be pushed. I must remember that my own internal light is as bright as anything else I have in my arsenal and I need to calm down and let it shine.
So, as I plan to relax with the family this Sunday, I am reminded of friendships, of going with the flow, of balancing my own soul and of those around me, of desire, of eternal love and the sacred vows I undertook ten years ago. Time to let my light shine and to my wonderful sister: Let yours shine on your birthday too! Love you!!
