Today we have a remind to keep our thoughts on the job at hand, to not let other, shiny thoughts, disengage us from the task we originally set out to do. The card that carries this message is the Nine of Arrows, with the key word that inspired that little thought: Dedication.
For those of us old enough to remember the fantastic and very sadly missed, Mr Roy Castle, you may remember this theme tune to the show, Record Breakers. The song is highly relevant and speaks volumes of this alone. You know, somewhere, I swear there’s a music list of all 78 Tarot cards on someone’s iPod / iTunes list…. I wonder what song they have for the 9 of Arrows / 9 of Swords??
Any way, that is *my* take on the musical front, but on the intellectual, dedication front, there’s far more to come. Being a Witch, I’ve neglected my practices over time as family life with young children has taken over. I have spent some time of late, meditating and talking with my guides and deities, to learn that being a mother is partly what I am here to do. The other stuff can and will come later, but doing them both at the same time is something of a tall order.
However, there is a time to get to grips with what I need to do, get dedicated and get on with it, forsaking all the other one hundred and one things I need to do, at least for a little while. In those few hours, goodness and Goddess alone knows what I’ll get done. I’ll keep you posted. But I shall have Roy Castle’s song in my head for most of today, as a result.
