It’s so very nearly my birthday, so I thought I’d share with you what the Wildwood says might occur over my personal birthday festivities.
It’s always nice to wish people a happy solar return when it’s their birthday, to wish them all the best for the coming 12 months. In that time, we all hope we’ve grown up a bit, gotten wiser as the year has passed.
Times like this have us back at The Wanderer, beginning again, going forward another Lunar Year and leaving the baggage from the previous year behind. However, The Wildwood, being totally random and 78 cards of goodness, says The World Tree right at the start. The World Tree is the last of the Major Arcana’s. It’s about ending a journey, taking stock. Notice how the tree sports all four seasons? Right now, we’re at the door at the base of the tree, just after the glyph maze. The clock is turning but the World is at my feet.
The Queen of Stones, the practical momma bear, comes out in the middle position; the other two are dancing around her, making her the central focal point. I’m not one for being in the spot light, I dislike it now at this age as I did when I was younger. I can cope with a small stage, my cave, my familiar surroundings. I’m not good on a central stage. Like this momma bear, I pop my head out to see what’s going on, take stock, then head back inside to play and be warm. Back to some more birthday cake, wine and chocolate I think!
However, for my birthday, I can take being central figure for a day; can’t you?
The Stag, Strength or Justice? In this deck, they’re a little of both, the Stag protects, carries out the justice, keeps things fair. And I guess that’s the skills I have to hand. The beat of the drum is constant, like The Doctor standing on the edge of the Time Vortex, I can hear the beat of life, coming from behind, from before me. Another birthday has passed, but a whole new one is just beginning!
