Pyramid Spread & Saturn Retrograde

There are many spreads that are available out there, easily accessible thanks to the Internet.  One of my favourites is the pyramid spread, wider at the bottom then up to the point of what to do next. It can be reversed from the single point again to be as large going forwards as you need or want it to be. I often use this pyramid spread when I want insight on where I am, what to overcome & what the outcome is likely to consist of. The question for this week is; What do I need to be aware of during this Saturn Retrograde? FYI, Saturn doesn’t go direct again until August (yes, that long) so these months may be zooming passed in reality, but it’s not going to feel like time is moving or things are progressing at all. Days may feel longer than they actually are. The Spread:  Bottom, Row…

Emerging From The Wildwood

Here I am, emerging from the sabbatical I took away from technology & life. Returning to nature is always something that my soul sings out for when I find myself in a rut. Like the Pole Star, I’m emerging to a more social aspect of my nature, after a good few weeks away. Life gets hectic. Jobs, kids, schools, family: it can drain us. I took my two-week return to nature earlier than normal, because of plans I am involved with at the end of the month, meant I could not be away then. It turns out, that I needed the recharge then and not later on. I can always take another “break” later! Coming back to my home life, the work schedule etc. reminds me of this Wildwood Image; The Pole Star. I’ve been in those woods, Wales is full of them. I’ve been in a tent and heard…

Listen for the Controlling Hidden Emotions

I asked the Wildwood for advice for this coming week. It’s response was humorous! Listening to the controlling hidden emotions can be a journey and if you want help to listen to yours, come and book your private consultation. The Wildwood’s sense of humour isn’t something I usually see, but for the week ahead and what advice it can give, makes me chuckle a little! The first card up for “What to look forward to” was The Wren, Page of Arrows. So, simple, honest, straight forwards communications. Do you look forward to chatting straight talking people? They tell you what you don’t want to hear, they’re honest with you and they don’t stand for your sweeping nonsense. Well, I DO enjoy people and clients like that and I enjoy talking with people who ask questions. I enjoy engaging with those that can make me be honest with myself too. Offering…

Gentle As You Go : The Wildwood

Mercury is going retrograde (meaning reverse) so it’s time to be gentle with yourself and others. Gentle! Yes, that one word you might use with a child who is greeting a new pet, or teaching a dog how to take nicely. There are many occasions to use this word, so many I shan’t even begin to try to list them. Though, I’ll wager you don’t apply it to yourself. Do parents, ever? Seriously?!  Even if you’re not a parent, I’ll bet you don’t apply it to yourself. Now however, is the time to do just that. When was the last time you showed yourself some loving and care? When did you last take ME time, or talk with care to anyone? Let me recite a story that happened this evening. I had done the food shopping today, this morning in fact, to a store I go to weekly with the…

Direct to the Point : The Wildwood

Direct and to the point is the advice from The Wildwood this week. This makes things, interesting. I drew this card via the app on my Nexus 7, primarily because the cards are then safe from the prying paws of my toddler daughter. However, I didn’t expect to pull out the Kingfisher, aka, King of Arrows. This little bird is rare, I’ve never seen one with my own eyes, but the drawings that Will has done for this deck is just amazing! It’s like a photograph I wished I’d taken. That said, this little feather friend is at home in the water catching fish as it is in the air. It’s an ancient symbol of wisdom. They strike when the time is right, so they’re good judges of when to strike, what power to use and sheer force of will. Go your own way by Fleetwood Mac just came into…

Now What : The Wildwood Answers

It’s been over a week since I communed with my maternal grandmother, but I’m left with this sense of: Now what?! It’s a very 4 of Cups moment! Now what? How often have I heard that question in my Tarot Counselling Career? The answer, is quite often. However, I’m usually the one with the cards, helping others! Seems this week, I need to help myself too. So, I used the app on my tablet (where little madame cannot damage my cards) and asked the question through the Wildwood App (check your smart phone store 😉 ) The Significator (5 of Vessels) What’s the issue, dear? The Issue is about me being happy! Do I go through the motions? (Yes, a Buffy reference 😀 ) Or do I just need to do something, rather than sit on my petite, mummy behind? The issue is I’m not a happy camper, I’m now…

Tarot Blog Hop : Commune, Communicate, Commemorate

Previous Blog | Master List | Next Blog Commune, Communicate, Commemorate with those who have gone on before us. It’s Halloween and our lovely wrangler, Arwen of Arwen Tarot, gave us this brief: “It’s Samhain or MidFall. This is the last of the three harvests in the Northern Hemisphere and the advent of Spring in the Southern hemisphere. It is a time that I know as being a thinning of the veil…a time for the honouring of those who have crossed over before us. This will be a hop focused on communing, communicating and commemorating our loved ones. If I could ask my grandparents a question or two about their lives, I’d have to pick my maternal Grandmother. She’s been “felt” around my life a few times, but I usually send her away with a snarl and a reminder to never darken my thoughts again and for a while, she…

Wildwood : Endurance Path

It’s half term, time to hunker down, teach and not make it all such a challenge! Endurance is certainly something any parent finds that they need when the little darlings are off school. This week, whilst I love time with all three, I’m reminded that it can be useful and not to wish the time away. I asked the Tarot what I needed to know this week and I’ve used the Pathway Spread from The Wildwood. The middle card is first up and The Issue is to find the calm in the storm that the little minions come with. This time with them is a challenge, but it can be a good, if I make it that way. I don’t need to make it so my emotions, or my kids emotions, are left in tatters or neglected. It’s time to find the time to chill out, be with them, let…

Wildwood : Nuggets of Wisdom

This week,  after the busy events of last week,  we have the wonderful and wise Salmon offer us some nuggets of wisdom. Oh boy, it’s hard to be wise at the time, to say the right thing at the right time. The Salmon, to me, is about trying and never giving up, but the Salmon is also wise. Probably because of the hazel nuts they ate that dropped into the water. The Queen is generally a mature lady, one who is able to show great honesty, generosity and in this case, self-sacrifice. I have to ask, which nuggets of wisdom does she want to part with this week? The Queen can be tender-hearted, kind. Do you need to be kind and tender-hearted to others this week? We forget, when we’re wrapped up in our own things, that others don’t know what is going on in our heads. We need to…

Tarot Blog Hop : Opposites Attract

Welcome to the latest Tarot Blog Hop, however you’ve landed here with me. I had to bash on the door to join in this one, I totally missed the sign up period for it, but Maureen, being such a good egg, let me join in. She has however, set a heck of a challenge for Beltane (or Bealtaine). The Union of Opposites! And because of how my warped little mind works, the song by Paula Abdul and Opposites Attract came to mind. Blog Before : Master Hop : Blog After So, whether you came by my blog from Aisling herself, or widdershins from Arwen, I bid you welcome! Like everything in life, there are plenty of opposites. The same is true for the Tarot, but before I start pairing off opposites, what do you think of when someone says, opposites attract? For me, tall woman, short man. Tall man, short…
