Let’s Talk : Bettering Our Chances

What can we do to better our chances? We all get knock backs, but how do you better your chances for the next time we strive to achieve a goal or dream? Chances come and go. Getting told that you were “close but no cigar” is bound to upset anyone. However frustrating it is, we need to continue to charge forwards, one step at a time. The strength of the character we have inside rises up when we’re told no. Some get aggressive, some get creative & dig deeper. It’s this digging deeper aspect that I appreciate. When the going gets tough, the tough get going, as the song goes. So, what can the cards advise us about bettering out chances? Let’s look at the cards! Position 1: What might be tripping me up? – 3 of Arrows Position 2: Why is it tripping me up? – 7 of Vessels Position 3: How best can I jump this hurdle? – Page of Stones 3 of Arrows : your heart maybe wasn’t  in the situation, to begin with.  Whilst it looked good on paper, something rang true in the heart that caused a conflict. It’s not easy to put a finger…

Mercury Retrograde : What Did We Learn?

Mercury retrograde is nearly over,  but what did you learn?  Mercury, the planet of communication, goes direct again on the 22nd. Not a moment too soon! What did you learn  through this period of stuck,  backwards and jarred communication? Communication with important,  though we don’t always know how or what to communicate when Mercury is going backwards in the skies above.  We sometimes find out  when Mercury goes direct & the answers come, or when we don’t hear from someone for a time & we wonder why. I asked the Tarot,  “What was my recent lesson with this Mercury retrograde?” The Spread: The positives from  the situation: The Knight of Cups The negatives from the situation:The Page of Cups What to take forward: 3 of Pentacles The Reading: The positives from this Mercury Rx are interesting. The Knight is one of the dynamic four of the Courts, Knights are energetic, young, impetuous and in this case, the emotional one. He’s learning what is acceptable to others, what sits well with him and what doesn’t. He’s all about the self-learning of his emotional self. He’ll stir things up a little just to learn more about himself and others. To me, he is…

When Am I Going To Get A Break?

We do sometimes look up at the sky and think: Come on, gimme a break! But when are you going to catch a break? Sometimes, just sometimes, we need the Wheel of Luck to turn in our favour. Sometimes, just sometimes it does, but not after we’ve howled at the moon and asked: When am I going to get a break?! This question has come from my Twitter feed. Being in the right situation at the right time is the luck and good fortune of others. It’s not for us everyday folks, is it? The truth is, even those that seem to be blessed with good fortune for “being in the right place at the right time” have had to work at it. The situation they’ve struck lucky at is sometimes of their own making. Chances are, you are watching a situation unfold that they’ve spent weeks, if not months, manufacturing consent for. (I’m thinking politicians here, primarily but there will be others. Who else can you think that works like this? Entrepreneurs perhaps?) So, let’s look again at the question. When are you going to catch a break? The answer is likely to be: When you can manufacture its occurrence.…

Career Path – Is This The Right Path?

We’re often stuck in our career as much as we are in general life, sometimes more so! What  happens when you’re not sure if you’re on the right career path? Let me offer you a reading on that subject. We spend so much of our lives working, often working for others in jobs we don’t like with people we’d rather not be friends with on social media. I find that a damn shame, but I’ve been there, done it, walked away. Sometimes though, we get it right and if that’s the case, you won’t be needing my help. If you do, I write this for you. What are the pro’s of work? Every job has it’s good and bad points. Focus for a few moments on the good. The Woodwose suggest that you’ve got the respect and you command it. You give it out when you need to and you make sue that those you work with respect you, even if they don’t like you. That’s a damn hard thing to pull off in an office, even more so if you’re working for yourself. The other pro here, taking on the self employment aspect, is that you have to respect…

Listen for the Controlling Hidden Emotions

I asked the Wildwood for advice for this coming week. It’s response was humorous! Listening to the controlling hidden emotions can be a journey and if you want help to listen to yours, come and book your private consultation. The Wildwood’s sense of humour isn’t something I usually see, but for the week ahead and what advice it can give, makes me chuckle a little! The first card up for “What to look forward to” was The Wren, Page of Arrows. So, simple, honest, straight forwards communications. Do you look forward to chatting straight talking people? They tell you what you don’t want to hear, they’re honest with you and they don’t stand for your sweeping nonsense. Well, I DO enjoy people and clients like that and I enjoy talking with people who ask questions. I enjoy engaging with those that can make me be honest with myself too. Offering “advice” when it’s not been solicited is hard, but it can and should be done! It’s called ethical boundaries and not everyone needs to hear an unwanted motor-mouth of opinion run on and on. I then asked the Wildwood, “What do I need to avoid this week?” It’s response was…

Office Party : Tarot Blog Hop

Office Party season. The Wildwood comes bearing the Secret Santa gift for one of you, my co-workers. What does it contain? Read on to unwrap the gift at your office party! Blog Hop Before | Master List | Next Blog Hop Welcome to the latest Yule Tarot Blog entry from me. Whether you’ve landed here from Arwen’s entry or directly because you like coming by, blessings of the seasons to you and yours! The Office Party season is upon us and the usual “Secret Santa” was handed out weeks ago. What did you decide to bring to the office party and for whom? Me, I bought a duplicate of The Wildwood card of the Moon on Water. I’ve made it into a bookmark, so I’m able to hang it on the very well decorated Christmas tree with some golden curling ribbon and smile knowingly. Upon the back of the duplicate card I’ve printed and stuck on a note. I smile as another person places their gift carefully within the tree, but I pay no attention to who has placed what. There’s plenty of people here at this party, so there’s plenty to engage with. I personally, like to sit in a…

8th September : Getting to the Point

I was poorly last week. This week, I’m back in the saddle and gearing up for a great week doing face-to-face readings; but what’s the point? The point of my job, is to be direct, but to be gentle with it. My role, is to cut through the woodlands, the trees, the nonsense, the smelly stuff (insert your own chosen word here) and point out the obvious, which, when observing from the outside, is clear to me.  This is the central card here in the spread shown below, The Archer. The Archer is direct, no-nonsense, driven. For the moment, I feel that is what I’m being asked to engage with, the path to follow. Action To Avoid ~ The Lovers | The Issue ~ The Archer | Action To Take ~ Stoat What won’t help with my role? The Lovers comes up in answer, and as much as I love myself and my family, they shouldn’t come up in the reading, nor be used for comparison. They say when two people fall in love, it’s rather sickly. Well, that reminds me of sugar-coating things, beating about the bush. I’ve been called tactless before (well, several times!) but I don’t need…

18th August : Energies Around Us

Back from a great fresh air holiday, I investigate what energies are around myself and mine as we end one chapter and work out what comes next. It’s great to get away and relax. It becomes essential when you can’t see the woods for the trees. It also helps you refocus and reassess the energies around you. Are you heading in the right direction? Are you happy with where you are? If not, what are you going to do about it? We had some changing news upon our return home from a holiday. It was anticipated, but still, unwelcome. So, now that things are going to change (we will make it a change for the better!) I’ve asked the Tarot what energies are around us at the moment and these are the cards I drew.  On the left, we have the Three of Arrows. This is the positive energies around at the moment. Hmm…. jealousy being positive? I wonder how? It could be that the energy of being jealous is normal, that we’re to embrace it and let the thoughts flow. That’s… interesting. The second card represents the negative energies around us at the time. It’s the Wren, the little…

Wildwood : 30th Jan 2014 ~ Midweek Story Board ~ Adapt to Duty

I’m back on schedule this week after a not very pleasant past seven days. However, I’m reminded to love myself, adapt and when the time comes, start again. What do these cards say for you? The Fools Wisdom this week was Duty, to embrace it with love and enthusiasm. The thing with Duty is that it can drain you, running around from pillar to post, back and forth.                   The cards this week remind me to love myself. The Lovers are about loving others. Who support you whilst you carry on your obligations, your duties? Remember to love them too. The Otter is an adaptable being, living out of and in the water as the need fits. The otter is playful and is certainly a being that looks after itself first. If it wants a bath, it goes and takes one, playing as it goes. It eats when it wants, when it’s able to catch its food. It’s also skittish, hard to see and as quick as lightening! The Ace of Stones, with the phrase, “The Foundation of Life” is to me, an indicator to start over again. What is it that’s…

Wildwood Answers: 30 Day Challenge ~ Day 23

We’re within sight now of the end of this challenge. Hasn’t there been some great challenges already! I’ve really had to think about some of the answers and explore a little of myself in the process. Today’s question is this: What question do you most often ask the deck (or, ask on behalf of another)? One of the most insightful questions you can ask any Tarot deck, I feel, is an open ended question. “What do I need to know?” is a great one. “Will s/he come back?” isn’t a great one, for you may well not like the answer if your heart is set on the outcome being “yes”, and it’s a closed question. The Tarot is rather unforgiving in yes/no answers. Here’s another similar one that I know a lot of Readers get asked: “I’ve not heard from X in 6 months… Will s/he come back?”  Honestly, sweetie, if they’ve not contacted you in 6 months, a year or longer, you don’t need a Tarot reader to say “no”. However, I feel you need to work out why you won’t let them go, why you’re holding onto the miserable baggage of the past. Ask the Tarot that question…
