2016 : Goodbye & What The Heck!?

Goodbye 2016, you’ve been a rollercoaster of a year! Whilst we say goodbye to 2016, I have to ask via the Tarot: What the heck did we learn?!   Include mortality (Bowie, Leonard Cohen), greed, boundaries, political changes (Trump & May) & a spread to say goodbye! 2016 is a 9 year, Hooded Man, Woodwose – 9 of Bows, introspection becoming reality, next year is a year of The Wheel, Change…. Changes can be small & that word instantly brings to mind this song from David Bowie. The changes can be anything, from doing something healthier to changing an attitude. The Reading: The Major card for the coming year is The Wheel, but before we engage with that type of change, I am going to ask the cards just what we were supposed to learn with 2016? I drew 3 cards to focus on the lessons learnt. Card 1 is for…

America, What Will Happen Now?

America, what will happen when the election is over? This is a question with so many ramifications, its tricky to answer! What will happen to America after this election? Watching the American election, or even keeping a slight track on it and you cannot help but ask the question: What will happen once the circus is over? No doubt the circus will find a way to hop on over the UK, it usually does. When the dust settles, when the clowns have gone home, what will happen then? I asked The Wildwood what might happen. The Reading: The first card out was the Three of Arrows. To me, this is saying that some (okay, probably fair to say that half) aren’t going to like the final result. America will speak & the loudest, most popular voices will be heard and acted upon. There will be some who will wonder what the heck happened.…

Emerging From The Wildwood

Here I am, emerging from the sabbatical I took away from technology & life. Returning to nature is always something that my soul sings out for when I find myself in a rut. Like the Pole Star, I’m emerging to a more social aspect of my nature, after a good few weeks away. Life gets hectic. Jobs, kids, schools, family: it can drain us. I took my two-week return to nature earlier than normal, because of plans I am involved with at the end of the month, meant I could not be away then. It turns out, that I needed the recharge then and not later on. I can always take another “break” later! Coming back to my home life, the work schedule etc. reminds me of this Wildwood Image; The Pole Star. I’ve been in those woods, Wales is full of them. I’ve been in a tent and heard…

Star Man : Time To Say Good-bye.

It’s time to say good-bye to the one and only, Goblin King. The Star Man has returned to the cosmic dust from which we all come from. It was rather shocking, hearing it on the radio as I got the kids up and dressed Monday morning just gone. So much so, the eldest child hugged me, not quite sure what to do with a mum who suddenly went into slight shock! The best memories I have of him are as the Goblin King in Labyrinth. The best song, has to be, this: Dance Magic. He was superb in this movie and I often wondered why he wouldn’t or didn’t do any others. He was in a few movies, as I now find out, but before Jack Sparrow, Captain Hook or anyone else, there was Bowie. (Before him, was Rutger Hauer, but that’s something different) He was forever reinventing himself and…

Wildwood Hope : Major #17 ~ The Pole Star

Today we have the hope of the Pole Star to journey through. Given the events in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday. Hope seems to be the order for the next few days. The events in Boston on Monday the 15th came as a shock to most of the World. What was even more surprising was the speed at which the World found out. Yes, the news channels covered the events, however, I find the news depressing and soul-destroying (you hardly hear good news), so I never normally watch those channels. It was Twitter, Facebook and the art of social media that alerted most of the waking world to the events unfolding in that state, myself included. Before that, I had already pulled the Pole Star card and the Resolution outcome card from 1000 Spreads and with that event unfolding, I knew part of what this card’s insight was and what this…

Wildwood CotD : Major #17 ~ The Pole Star

This weekend we’re joined by The Pole Star, the Wildwood’s answer to The Star in the RWS. Firstly, I’m sorry I didn’t post this card up yesterday (Friday 23rd) but I was simply too tired to concentrate or to think. However, the message is carries for us isn’t just for one day, this is your weekend card, so please do enjoy! The image shows a human, probably The Wanderer, emerging from a dark forest to see that the stars and the moon are in a rotating pattern above their head. The Universal Lore that created us is at work on our behalf, so be careful what you wish for, you might just get it but it might not be what you need. Wish for what you need instead, let your intuition speak to you and follow its path. There is a new era or path now open to you that…

Wildwood CotD : Major #17 ~ The Pole Star

Today The Wildwood reminds us to keep our hopes alive and to remember that every once in a while, we need to look up and take stock and look at the bigger picture. This deck has not ceased to stop amazing me with its hints, suggestions and tips. However, it’s very apt, synchronistic and timely: I just love it! Does it show? As The Wanderer emerges from The Wildwood,he glances up to see that the Pole Star shines down upon them, sending the rest of the stars into a spiral of support, a reminder that something or someone, somewhere, has a large amount of spiritual hope and will guide you. Part of The Wanderers ramblings is to work through The Wildwood and work out his own path through it. That means taking turns here, going backwards there, getting lost, finding your way again (as they have just done in this…

Wildwood CotD : Major #17 ~ The Pole Star

Today the Pole Star comes out to join us, and like the Wanderer coming out of the darkened forest to the bright lights of the stars that now swirl all around him, realisation dawns. I feel that it should be something epic that I finally understand but in truth, I just feel calmer, as if someone’s turned the light on and is leaving me to work out what I am now seeing and feeling I get that the Pole Star is representing / talking about Universal Law, that what you send out comes back to you three-fold. It could be manifesting on an individual level or permeating through a web of circumstances in which we find ourselves. Like the Dog Star from songs, Sirius, we’re guided by a bright light in the sky, it’s a guide, a way to . Often I have stared up at the stars and wondered…

Wildwood COTD : Major #17, The Pole Star

Today on this Tuesday, we have another Major following on from yesterday’s brilliant new start, it’s the Pole Star, Major 17. The Pole Star is the card of wishes, internal dreams, answers from the cosmos and a dose of fate. As you emerge from the darkness of the woodlands of life, you lift your head up and you find yourself in a clearing with the stars swimming around, focusing on you. So, what do you want to do? Where do you want to go? What are your hopes and dreams? If you have not worked on them recently, it would be a good idea perhaps, to spend a little time on them today and work out what they are. It is also a card of intuition, using it, developing it, trusting it. Have you been doing that of late? If not, I feel you should spend some time on it.…
